Seaside Second Home
This beautiful new home was recently purchased by one of our existing clients to enjoy as a year round seaside get-away. They wanted a welcoming environment where family and friends, of all ages, could enjoy extended visits in the beautiful costal community of Westhampton. This luxury home was presented to us as a blank slate with a simple mandate … to create a welcoming decor with the feeling of nature and natural patterns. They also wanted ample sleeping for extended visits by family and friends and to utilize the backyard for relaxation, dining, cooking, swimming and recreation.
After an extensive design meeting with the client at our showroom and new home accessories store the client embraced our suggestion to use warm whites as the canvas for the beautiful natural colors and patterns chosen to bring out the warm tones of the sea, sand and dunes just minutes away. We furnished the entire home with costal colors and beautiful accessories with natural textures. We brought in lighting, accessories and costal wallpapers with blues and white to further mimic the beachie vibe. We added contemporary costal accents like the whimsical floating metal fish high on the open space walls as well as natural woven accessories, tables and costal wallpapers.
On entry the 25 foot ceilings and open space design with stunning staircase and flowing railing say welcome … and welcome again! The beautiful lighting and the very beachie vibe living room present an instant feeling of calm. Bridging the living room and kitchen is a simple but strategically located eating area with a unique two sided fireplace and easy access and views into the backyard. The quartz countertops in the kitchen and adjacent dining room continue the seaside serenity with natural oak flooring, teak details on the furniture and a Cerused Oak kitchen table that showcases the beautiful wood grain. This feeling turns a bit more whimsical in the dinning area where the natural weave chairs blend perfectly with the “Palm Frond” wall paper of floating palm leave.
Upstairs in the primary bedroom suite we continued the calming effect of nature with contemporary lighting, a seating area and furniture accents that include a natural weave bench seat with a woven wicker coffee table with storage for linens. We brought in costal blue and white pillows and simple, but clean window treatments for a light and airy fashion statement. The children’s and guest’s bedrooms are designed for extended stay guests with seating in every bedroom, pull out couches and even a queen and full size bunk bed because this is a home to entertain and accommodates guests!
The entire backyard has purpose … relax, entertain, play, swim or just be with nature. We selected the best furnishings for lounging, dining, cooking, entertaining or relaxing. With the beautiful lounge furniture, seating area by the barbecue, a dining table, fire pit with sectional, ping pong, air hockey, pool table and of course a pool – it’s all just a splash away!
