When these Manhasset homeowners became “Empty Nesters” they wanted to downsize, yet still stay in the community. They chose to move into a townhouse and asked us to create a new floor plan, manage the renovation, and provide luxury interior design and furnishing services.
We began by gutting the space and creating a great room … a seamless integration of the kitchen, dining room and living room. In the living room we added many architectural details including unique coffered ceilings and a cozy electric fireplace. In the dining room we designed and constructed built-in storage cabinetry to create additional useable space. We expanded the townhouse entry and remodeled the adjacent sun-filled den and powder-room.
We essentially created a kitchen suite with marble countertops and backsplash, satin brass accents, new lighting, a custom built-in space saving banquette, a clerical desk and a new mud room that opened into a car port with epoxy floor, white sheetrock and clean white LED lighting.
Lifestyle convenience was key in the clients mind for the upstairs. So we designed and created a combination office / guest bedroom and a laundry room with a soft and relaxing color pallet. The feeling of convenience and relaxation was extended into the primary bedroom suite. We began with a primary bedroom redesign and furnished it with relaxing chairs and a luxurious vanity. The primary bathroom was modernized with a walk-in shower and an easy enter, easy exit under-mount tub and tub deck, all grounded with Carrera Bella marble details.
The basement redesign was all about family, friends and fun! It accommodates family visits with an extra bath and bedroom and play spaces, health needs with a personal gym and friendly gatherings with a card table for coffee, games and snacks. Adjacent is a flatscreen with ample seating and mini kitchen … all this nested nicely on the new durable laminated vinyl floor.
