Oyster Bay 2

The owner of this converted farmhouse presented his ideas to several interior designers but chose Kerith Flynn and her team at Margali and Flynn Designs to make it happen.

With a larger than normal open space the home provided a unique great room opportunity. By dividing this large space into three visually distinctive areas we were able to create a more inviting and livable space. We tucked the bar under the stairs and turned what would be an empty space into a great entertaining nook.

This super open concept allows this family to play games with their children or just sit back and relax in the living room. In one space they can watch TV, play a game of pool or enjoy a cocktail or move to the country table with seating for 4 to enjoy a light snack. We added a custom central pendant light to work with the exposed beams, wall sconces for mood lighting, a metal cocktail table, interesting metal art and ladder shelving with accessories that accentuate the industrial barn theme throughout the house.

To make entertaining a breeze, we created this beautiful dining room with a custom colored table and stoneware place settings. We decided that a Lazy Susan would be great option for the center of the large, round dining table. The Lazy Susan is a fun, yet functional way to display accessories and serve your favorite dishes to family and friends. The dining room’s central fixture, the distinctive wall sconces,  and sliding barn doors all work together to compliment the industrial farm chic theme throughout this unique home.
